Today was really tired.. went to spotlight at plaza singapura in search of curtains there.. however there is very expensive the cloth.. so me and my parents decide to take a look at joo chiat.. there were alot of varieties and much more cheaper.. bought this nice curtain.. cost quite a bomb but its worth it.. hari raya come my house and c k.. haha.. well i really wanna try e new F&N apple.. finally my wish will be fulfilled.. so delighted.. and i m goin to drink too quench my thirst.. swear to god its really tired wen u carry two cartons of bottle sprite urself.. can die ar..
Luckily took a taxi home.. and this driver was like talking about history of Singapore.. how e name come about for such places..
Bugis? - people from bugis came to stay there..
Bras Basah? - people used to grow rice there.. bras as in beras, basah as means wet
Geylang Serai? - las time known as Kilang Serai.. at last known as geylang serai
alot more ar.. sometimes e names are interesting to hear..
Melacca? - comes about from this pokok Melaka ( Melaka tree )
oh ya, the taxi driver was oso complaing about Raffles was not e one who discovered Singapore.. its Sang Nila Utama.. haha. its just that somehow its sad that the modern Singapore now is teaching e young kids only the modern stuff which begins from Raffles time.. thus e previous details was ignored.. i mean wouldnt u be ashamed if tourist ask you who is the founder of Singapore.. U said Raffles?.. u mite be laughed at.. haha..
wat amazed me is that this taxi driver is a chinese but he noes alot about singapore history.. not only that he oso noes the history of other relegions such as Islam, Budha, Christian..hmmm.. if people were to ask about our religion i bet not all of us could answer.. its funny that we said we believe in this religion but we dont noe the roots.. well that really strike me in my head.. guess shud read up more and share with the others.. isnt it good to share knowledge with everybody..
